St Michael’s parish school is co-educational and located in Old Berwick, a beautiful village. The school has a total of 430 students. There are 21 classes, including LOTE-Japanese, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts classes.
The school was established in 1962 by the Presentation Sisters. It serves children from St Michael’s Parish. Families who want to educate their children in a Catholic environment that reflects Catholic values and faith. The school’s purpose is to foster spiritual growth in children through faith-centered education. Our inspiration is our students. Our students are guided in their faith by the Scriptures and live out their Christian way ‘being’ in the world. They are nurtured to become Christ-centred people.
St Michael’s is a Catholic learning community dedicated to giving our children the best possible opportunities. This allows them to share ideas and help each other improve their teaching and learning, and ultimately benefit their students. Classroom teaching offers flexible, adaptable strategies and methods that enable students to build meaning and understandings. Students are at the heart of what we do. They believe that learning is more effective when there are positive relationships and an environment that provides support and challenges. The whole school team works together to manage issues so that each student can succeed in their learning and development within the supportive school community.
